- As a stalled front weakens over the Mid-Atlantic Monday, thunderstorms will develop across the Virginias, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and begin to push back northward into New York and New England. - No severe is expected but some localized flash flooding downpours are possible. - Only Maine will stay completely dry all day. - Daytime temperatures will be 4 degrees either side of average with highs mainly in the 80s, except for some upper 70s across eastern New England. - Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue Tuesday and Wednesday. The next cold front will move across the region and toward the coast Wednesday before stalling out. Showers could linger from New England to the Virginias Thursday before possibly drier weather sets in for Friday and Saturday. - Yet another front arrives next Sunday with more showers and thunderstorms. - With 2 more cold fronts moving through the region, there will be no return to the heat wave of last week. Any 90s should be confined to southeast Virginia. Most of the region will have highs mid-to-late week in the 70s and 80s.
