01.07.2014 @ 07:13 - showered, dressed and ready to go since 05:30 - it is so peaceful and beautiful here and the good news is that I didnt have to take down any more spideys!!! Still trying to fill up with petrol - absolutely nothing!!! Now every Tom, Dick and Harry trying to sell us raincoats - lols...... @ 09:00 - made booking for helicopter trip later - lots of hidden costs!! and off to the Falls we go. Words cannot begin to describe what Victoria Falls is like! The absolute sheer power is in a word - awesome...... from the time you get to point 1 you are basically wet and wet you stay..... @ 11.30 - drove down Zambezi Drive to see the big tree, when we got there absolutely nobody in sight! Out the car and all and sundry appeared from the bush! end result Merv got a beautiful statue of the Big Five and we both got for free an elephant neclace..... Back into town and still no petrol - Cyril, our host at Penny Wise Cottages quite worried at this stage.... lols @ 13:00 - in town for lunch at Lolas Tappas before flight over Victoria Falls. Downside to shopping here is that everywhere Visa Welcome advertised and their pos machines never working, so sorry but cash only - seriously dude!!! :-( @ 13:45 - ordered Baobab Flour Smoothies - mental note to get Cafe Finos to make same!! ;-) it is absolutely out of this world.... @ 14.30 - and we are off to the helipad - the 18 year wait for this helicopter flight was so totally worth it...... sitting up front with Tom, the pilot also magic and a added bonus. Guess what Im doing for my birthday in December, yup - a helicopter flight around the peninsula..... :-) :-) :-)
