04/07/2014 DAILY SPRING TOPIC: THE NECESSITY OF EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION TEXT: Gen 2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. Gen 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Communication is regarded as the act of exchanging information between people; by means of speaking, writing, using a common system of sign or behaviour. It is a rapport that brings sense of understanding and sympathy or an interaction between persons or group of persons. It is expedient to know that, information should be effectively communicated to the recipient; in order to receive a corresponding, expected and an adequate feedback, response or action. From the above scripture, the Almighty God effectively communicated the responsibilities of Adam to him; in relation to his position in the Garden of Eden as the first husband and father. However, from all indication of what happened between Eve and the serpent, it was obvious that Adam did not communicate effectively with Eve as regards their position and responsibilities in the Garden of Eden as God commanded. It was apparently absurd, for Eve to have such an unholy interaction with the serpent; if she actually knows her worth (Gen.1:27-28). The same effective communication occurred between God and Abraham; as regards a son that shall come from his bowels (Gen.15:1-5). However, Abraham failed to communicate effectively with Sarah his wife the promise of God. Consequently, she suggested an unholy affair with her maid (Hagar) to Abraham, he succumbed to it and we all know the effect of such decision on human race till date (Gen.16:3-4) Beloved, effective communication is necessary in every aspect of our lives being: marriage, ministry, relationship or business to avoid unwarranted errors or misunderstanding. Lots of marriages, relationships, ministries or business would have been flourishing today, if we had taken cognizance of effective communication. Cultivate the habit of effective communication as a husband, wife, boss, leader or business partner. Let the ministers of God effectively communicate the scriptures to the church and we shall see vibrant churches that will effectively take their proper position in the scheme of life; as regards God’s agenda concerning His kingdom on earth and eternity. PRAYER: Psa 119:18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
