10 signs of a pagan-driven church 1. Humanistic theology (God’s love = lawless living with no consequences) 2. No urgency to reach the lost 3. They promote comfort more than change, individualism more than Christ 4. Appearance is more important than Kingdom effectiveness 5. Messages are driven by linguistic format rather than the Spirit of God. (The Spirit gives life) 6. The practical elements of God’s judgment are avoided. (Words like hell, eternal damnation, wrath, etc… are never spoken. By the way, there is no way any person can truly understand God’s love unless he understands God’s holiness. The two are inseparable. Any message that nails one without the other is a theological hammer missing the handle!) 7. Services are programmed according to the wants of people instead of their needs (Jesus preached to the crowds but was never controlled by them.) 8. Ability and performance replaces God’s immediate moving. 9. Focus is often placed on the immediate and seldom on the generational 10. Sinners come and go regularly with no sense of urgency to repent of their sins due to the absence of biblical preaching. Take the time to evaluate ministers. What does your message communicate? What about the culture your setting, the various ministries you maintain? You can be right sometimes but never all the time. There’s room for improvement! Ask the Holy Ghost to help you. Tell Him your sorry for not doing it His way. Commit to implement change wherever needed. Ask Him to make your respect and admiration for Him greater than what you have towards men. You can trust him! Trust Him to do spectacular things in your service tomorrow! If you will then he will, if you don’t then He won’t.
