19 Sep 2013 What Do You Want To Do About It? - Luke 10:17-20; Eph. 6:10-12 Bible in a year: Isaiah 30:12-33:9, Galatians 5:1-12, Psalm 63:1-11, Proverbs 23:22 I remember when our ministry was still a missionary organization, and then we used to go to villages to preach. There was this particular village that we were preparing for a meeting and then, I was outside and saw a woman gathering firewood and I asked if she would join us for the Bible study, and the woman said “ha, esu oni se mi” translated “the devil will not assault me.” And then I replied her that “the devil does not assault me, I assault the devil”. We left it at that and she left. At midnight the same day while we were praying, the Holy Ghost asked me if I knew who the woman I saw earlier in the day was and I replied that I didn’t. The Holy Spirit told me she was a witch and that she was standing before her idols at that same hour to invoke spirits against me and my ministry. Then the Holy Spirit asked me what do I want to do about it? Immediately I replied, “let the power of God hit her”, and we began to pray in the Holy Ghost and that was it. Lo and behold the next day, she was carried away out of the village almost dead, and she was away from the village for almost five months. Eventually when she returned to the village, she was always avoiding me, turning away whenever our paths almost crossed. The most beautiful thing about that encounter was the question the Holy Spirit asked me, “What do you want to do about it?” Jesus Christ has given us authority and he says, “Ye are complete in Him who is the head of all principalities and powers.” Dear reader, everything that God will do about your enemies has already been done in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If the enemy comes at you in one way, if they will ever flee in seven ways, you must do something about it. Your standing against the enemy should be based on scriptural revelation and not mere braggadocio. The boldness that you need to confront the enemy is the boldness that you have in the word of God, not because you are a naturally bold person. Jesus Christ has given you the authority and it’s just important for you to exert that authority in Christ henceforth. Prayer: From today Lord, I exert my authority in Christ; I will not be timid, I will maximize the strength that I have in Christ Jesus and all my enemies will be subject to me in Jesus’ name, amen.
