1957 CHEVROLET BEL AIR SPORT COUPE & 1958 DE SOTO ADVENTURE COUPE. The Chevys top engine that year was a 283 cu.in. V-8 w/283 h.p. while the DeSotos top engine was a 345 cu.in. V-8 w/345 h.p., yet few people knew about it. Chevrolet bragged about being the 1st to have an engine that put out 1 h.p. per cubic-inch, but why were they making such a big deal about it? Because, simply they had the moolah to do it!
