20/07/14 03:20, After a request from NIAS, SDCRT were tasked to the Bloody Bridge NEWCASTLE, where a young male had fell approximately 20ft onto rocks, First aid was administered and after on scene risk assessments were carried out it was decided due to the slippery nature of the rocks and the casualties injuries it was decided to airlift the casualty and transfer the casualty straight to hospital by Rescue HELO 116 airlifted a NIAS paramedic and the casualty to HLS in Newry where he was met by another unit from SDCRT, Mourne Mountain Rescue TEAM were also in attendance and were set up ready to help extract the casualty if the airlift was aborted. It was multi agency Rescue and showed just how well the different emergency services work as a highly trained and professional team to enhance the safety and recovery of an injured casualty.
