20.12.2014 7. Make Indian History Credible, Not a Myth In our previous episode of 19 .12.2012, we had discussed how the ridge like structure, the Adam’s Bridge or the Rama-set was formed about 1, 300 million years ago by natural geological process. Now will examine, if Rama was really a historical figure, and if yes, was there any contribution of his army to make or modify the preexisting natural ridge-like structure of Kanyakumari, Dhanishkoti? A few years back, USA’s NASA had published a satellite picture of the Rama-setu. A close examination of the picture clearly shows that the northern-most tip of Shri Lanka is curve towards the triangular landmass of the Rameshwaram with a series of islands and sub-marine ridge-like structures in between. Similarly, From Rameshwaram triangle to Talai Mannar Island also several ridges are seen. Moreover, from the extreme southern tip of the Indian peninsula also a series of dyke or ridge-like structures lead to the western shores of Shri Lanka. All these structures signify as if Shri Lanka was torn off from the main landmass (India) like an outstretched rubber band. NASA has estimated the age of these structures at about 17.25 lakh, which should also be the time when Shri Lanka was separated from India. However, the real controversy is about the age of the 30 km stretch of Ram-Setu or the Adam’s Bridge – weather this entire structure is natural or partly natural and partly man made!! The drilling by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) in collaboration with the National Institute of Ocean Technology indicated that the upper part, up to the depth of about 10 metres of the Setu, is made-up of marine sand, calcareous sand and large-size rock fragments normally used as building material. The geologists say that the rock-fragments are evidently not in-situ (not originated or formed where they are now found). They are mined and transported from the nearby hilly rocks, because the mineral composition and structure nearby rocks and the rock fragments are similar. Below this rock fragments is the layer are present coral reefs. Corals are the marine animals housed in their hard calcareous shells. The coral islands and the coral reefs are formed of these shells. Scientists say that these corals seem to have grown between 7,300 BC and 5,400 BC. Since the coral reefs have grown over the transported rock fragments, the time for the rock-fragments to excavated and deposited on the ridge must be earlier than the age of the coral reefs, In other words, they must be deposited at least approximately 6,000 years back. Is so, who excavated, transported and deposited these rock-fragments over Adam’s Bridge? --To Continue
