20 years ago I scheduled a c-section,giving birth to my precious son Devan (which fell on Easter Sunday) Mid-Island hospital called the local paper they came down took his photo with an Easter bunny,lol, and posted in their paper..unbeknown to anyone he was SPECIAL need baby I remember my doctor asked if Devan ate well,I said yes,He said there were some things he needed to check and was concerned about, therefore he wanted to call upon a genetic Dr. I asked why the concern? He said your son shows characteristic of a child with down syndrome, I had no idea what he was saying,the dr. Said there are 52 characteristics of Down syndrome ,I said like what, Well 1st they have extra fat necks, I said so does my husband,he said ok, 2nd they have extra space between there eyes and really small low ears, I said so does my husband,he said ok,well they have a single continuous line from 1side of there Palm to the other,Don checked his hands and said I have that on both hands,and I had the same single line on on 1palm, then theres the extra wide space between 1st and 2nd toe ,look I said my toes its from me, listen doc I said, hes the youngest of 9 kids he just has our weak parts,after a deep thought the doctor said he realize the connection to the things he pointed out belonging to the parents.. We had a laugh, to Don and I it was obvious. Still he ordered the test I had to wait 2wks, It confirmed the docs concern it was trisomy 21 Devan had ,not knowing too much about it, my ONLY concern was wanting Devan to feel the love we wanted to give him,I just wanted him to feel LOVE....The doctor stated theres not a better family hed would want for Devan ,stimulation would develop his character and with all his siblings he was not concerned for Devan..Well Devan knows who to call punk,boyand my favorite ,hahaha no one cares,thats brotherly love.. Witty he is lol...THANK YOU JESUS FOR TRUSTING US WITH YOUR SPECIAL CREATION.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY... MY PRESENT DEVAN
