2014... This has not been a good year. In fact this has been the very worst year of my life this far. Hospital visits. Physical and emotional pain. The loss of a few friends. The collapse of future plans. And to top it all off... Divorce. There were times when I wondered how I was going to make it through the day, much less the year. I often wondered what type of man I would be when it was all said and done. Well... Tomorrow will be 2015, and I am still here! Still breathing, still living, still pushing forward, still standing strong, and still a man of God. A lot of unfortunate things happened in 2014, but you cant change the past, and to dwell on it will only destroy your future. Im not the same man I was when this year began. Trial by fire has made me a better man, a stronger man, a wiser man, and a man who places His trust fully in the Lord. Life is not about how hard you can hit. Its about how hard you cN get hit, and still keep pressing forward. Although 2014 brought about a lot of destruction, God has taken the ashes of that destruction and salvaged many beautiful things and opportunities. For instance, most divorced couples hate each other, but my ex-Wife and I are still best friends (odd I know, but I really dont care what you think 😃)! God is opening doors for me that were previously closed. For instance I have always wanted to be a Marine, but fear killed that dream for me. However I learned that fear kills more dreams than failure ever will, so come August I will be shipping out for basic training! Ooh rah! I have learned many lessons this year due to my trials... Lessons such as pick your battles. Nice is different than good. Some people were raised to be charming, not sincere. Leave the past in the past. Learn to be content on your own. Although 2014 was a bad year, God has raised me up from the clay, and He has placed my feet in solid ground. Together we have climbed the mountain, and now I stand atop it ready to take on the world. If you can walk through fire and survive, not much else can burn you. Goodbye 2014, and hello 2015!
