2015 LUNCHEON LECTURE LINE UP ANNOUNCED January 30 – Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Russ Green, deputy superintendent and research coordinator, will give an overview of this federal sanctuary headquartered in Alpena. February 13 – The Battle of Being Mortal: Eldercare and Our Future. Peter Olson, Ph.D., North Central VP of Academics, will take us through the process of writing the story of our own lives. February 27 – Preserving Native Families. LTBB Chief Judge Allie Greenleaf Maldonado will talk about the Michigan Indian Family Preservation Act and the Indian Child Welfare Act. March 13 – Back from Liberia. Kelly Suter, R.N., North Central graduate, on her work with the Ebola epidemic. March 27 – Lost Boys: The Beulah Home Tragedy. Author Jack Hoby will discuss the sensational Supreme Court case against Herman Swift. April 10 – Natural-Born Killers: Have we lost control? Randy Claramunt with the DNR will address the many challenges of managing naturalized Pacific salmon in the Great Lakes. May 1 – What’s New at School?
