2015: PDP National Chairman’s close associate campaigns for Buhari A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, bigwig in Bauchi State, Alhaji Hassan Mohammed Sheri, has opted not to be discreet any longer about his support for the presidential bid of General Muhammadu Buhari. This is as he has called on his supporters to vote for the former head of state in the next year’s presidential elections. Sheri, who is from the same state as the PDP national Chairman, described Buhari as the most credible among those aspiring to lead the country in this present time. The PDP chieftain, who is believed to be a close political associates of the PDP national chairman, Ahmadu Adamu Mu,azu and the FCT minister, Bala Mohammed, was speaking at a press conference in Bauchi on Tuesday. While disclosing that Buhari’s crave for leadership is for Nigerians and not for himself, Sheri described Buhari as an exemplary leader who maintained his integrity despite the various positions he has held in Nigeria. “If it is for money Buhari would have amassed wealth more than any Nigerian because he had held other lucrative positions that many Nigerians were not opportuned to, that could have enriched him,” he asserted. Calling on the political class to ensure General Buhari assumes the mantle of leadership come 2015, the PDP faithful said, “Let me tell you categorically that I’m 100 percent in support of Buhari presidency come 2015 and therefore appeal to all Nigerians to ensure his victory at the polls,” he stressed and called on politicians, particularly members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure the emergence of Buhari as the APC flag-bearer in the forthcoming party primaries. Sheri, who stressed that he is still very much a PDP member, said he is speaking as an elder to necessitate the emergence of a credible leader that would move the country forward after 2015.
