2015 is almost here! Get ready to lace up!!! -Jan 3rd Run information below! We have quite a few people looking to run 12 half marathons or races in 2015 and since there are not a lot of events close in a couple of the months we will be setting up a few team runs. We will set up the time and the location and have water on the course. It will be a great way for you to log the miles with running partners minus the cost and time to travel to a race… We will mark the course but it will not be sanctioned… this is just an open run for all and you can log your miles together to hit your goal. (Remember this is low key so don’t expect too much… we do not have anyone to sing the national anthem, we do not have marines giving out medals at the end, there will not be any cheerleaders on the course, and don’t expect beer at the end unless it is my birthday). Here is how the Jan 3rd run will work: *Please let me know if you are planning to run on Saturday and how far you want to run (5k, 10k, or half). *We will start at 8:00am on Saturday January 3rd at the Wabash Trail- at the trailhead park off Wabash Ave/South Omaha Bridge Road (I will send you detailed directions if you need). *On this run we will ask each person to carry their own watch to record their time. I will keep a run timer going, but I do not want to miss anyone.. better safe than sorry... If you do not have a watch let me know- I will bring a few extras! *It looks like it is going to be cold on Saturday (but not as cold as tomorrow) layer up! If the weather is bad we will post an updates on Facebook- or you can message me for information. Race Bling/SWAG Stacey will be handing out race day medals for anyone that would like the bling on race day. There is no cost for the race, however if you would like one of Stacey’s awesome January finishers medals we ask that you consider giving a donation to the YMCA (donation cards are available at the race)! Or You can sign up for a virtual run (there are a bazillion online that you sign up for and then turn in proof of time/distance and a race medal will be mailed to you). You are responsible to sign up for the race and turn in your race information. A few options: https://jeffgalloway131/registration/ or usroadrunning/ Or Just run - cover the distance- :) If you are not planning on running and would like to come out and help let me know! Cherish
