3 of 3 With the buck now gone from what we thought was his final resting place all three of us made our way down to where he was laying, with little blood we started making our way in the direction that his Girlfriend had seen him run too. I told him It may be a high spine shot so be ready to put another in him just in case within 30 yards their laid the buck with his head tucked up behind him, we slowly walked up. I could see the bucks eyes watching our movement and his ears tuning into our steps as we snuck up to 6 yards and I told Braiden If he moves put another right in his shoulder I picked up a rock and tossed it by the buck, the buck whipped his head around and looked at us, Braiden drew back and sunk another arrow into the bucks shoulder. The buck jumped and kicked like a bull and took off running down the rock face! He began stumbling and falling and dove off a small cliff! ....and he just went off a cliff We sat for a few minutes and tried to collect ourselves and calm down. We walked to the edge of the little cliff and there laid his buck motionless at the bottom on his back. Braiden slowly walked up and poked the buck, this time no movement! Now finely BUCK DOWN for good! Braiden finely wrapped his hands around his first archery buck, as we sat there reminiscing and taking pics Braiden yells Dude I shot him in the head!!!! Sure enough their right below the bucks antler was the broadhead from his first shot imbedded in the bucks skull. What we thought was a high spine shot turned out to be a head shot! I dont know what that arrow did in mid-flight to make it flight that way but a 60 yard head shot? That is some Time Wells kinda shooting! ahahaha This was the fattest buck I have ever had to field dress, his heart and back straps were coated with a thick layer of fat. After 3 years of bow hunting the Wasatch Front with me, through blizzards and Negative degree tempts my little bro finely harvested his very first archery buck with me guiding him and his Girlfriend behind watching it all happen. Definitely one of the most craziest and memorable hunts I have ever been on:) So proud of you bro for sticking with it all these years and finely getting it done on the FRONT:) #wasatchboys #Proudbro #Firstbuck #wasatchfrontextended
