34 years ago today. About a half-dozen of us newly graduated Anteaters had (since none of us had a job) been mercifully allowed to park our sorry asses at Wayne Louvier s house. I was dating my first wife and we were watching Monday Night Football (now thats a REAL date!), when Howard Cosell broke into the broadcast to say that John Lennon had been shot, and shortly thereafter to announce he had died. I was working the swing shift at McGaw Labs back then and had to go into work before midnight. The radio station in the lab played nothing but Beatles/John Lennon songs all night, interspersed with live feeds from fans. All sad to be sure. My shift ended and I went to Carls Jr to grab some healthy breakfast. And there, waiting in the drive-thru, the radio station played this song-and that was when I totally lost it, crying like an effing idiot at the check-out and pretty much crying all the way home.... https://youtube/watch?v=tlfeyeMFiYA
