3SC Keep Salami, Ajiboye, 16 Others The technical crew of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan has recommended that a total of 18 players, including controversial striker, Gbolahan Salmi and ex-youth international goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye, should be retained from the squad that got relegated from the Glo Premier League. Although The Oluyole Warriors have also announced the sack of as much as 23 players, the club’s returnee coach, Franklin Howard has decided to retain the services of Salami, Ajiboye and 16 other players from last season. The other players who now stand a chance of lining out for the Ibadan-based traditional club in the lower-cadre Nigeria National League (NNL) next term include Okiki Afolabi, Sanni Mohammed, Sola Adeboye, Taofeek Adepoju, Francis Edem and Yomi Adigun. The Oluyole Warriors aim to make an instant return to the Premier League, which led to the shock decision to lay off a horde of players, among whom are veteran left-wing-back, Mutiu Adegoke (Sisco) and creative midfielder, Philip Ezborn Asuquo. Also listed for the 3SC exit door are Oasgona Ighodaro, who has already teamed up with Rangers International of Enugu, as well as Tony Edjomarigwe, Olabisi Samuel and Laide Okanlawon.
