5 am wake up call, wind burn, numb feet, blisters, lost voice, mercy given and hearts won...today just about 4000 people floated in the gate to the suns stadium where we were there to greet them, and help them in any way possible. 3500 pairs of shoes along with countless haircuts, photos, health and dental checks, and flu shots were given...in addition to that job services, community services, produce, groceries and many many more things for those involved to enjoy. I saw friends from all walks of life..deaf, blind, had language barriers, handicapped, pierced, and tattooed all just wanting one simple thing.....to be loved.... as Jesus loved us.I have loved every minute of this crazy adventure led by many volunteers and dear friends like Sheliea Athey and Laurie Bender...boy did we weather this would be storm today or what! Some faces we missed like Sandy Jeter and Kevin Jeter. that we serve with through Tides of Love. I am so glad that God made me a chameleon of sorts...as I really wanted everyone there that I personally came in to contact with to think of me as another mother, sister, or friend. What we choose in this life depends on the #hope we are given. Some take things in stride while others tend to beat themselves up ...such as myself. I needed this life altering experience as a way to grow and evolve with my faith. Holding the tiny hands of toddlers ready to jump a moon bounce and mothers crying to learn of the things in store or the older couples able to have someone see them back to the car with groceries in tow or brothers and fathers looking to gain work . All of this is the work of those who know #hope I have known hunger, anger, frustration, hurt, loss and love. Nothing pales in comparison to seeing the passion of those devoted to share his love and those on board to receive. #convoyofhope can be an everyday inspiring event..it doesnt have to end here...because everyone can do something and something is always enough.I thank you for your many changed hearts today as you have changed mine. #hopeforhagerstown
