6:50 A.M. - Here is the big picture view of the NWS Mobile radar. Meteorologists are monitoring a line of intense thunderstorms stretching from Camden AL, to west of Monroeville AL, to Mount Vernon AL, to south of Lucedale MS. Another batch of strong to severe storms extends from New Augusta MS to north of Leakesville MS to near Butler AL. In addition to the threat of damaging winds and isolated tornadoes, very heavy rainfall will also accompany some of these storms. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for all of area through the day. Keep in mind these storms will also be capable of producing frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect for all of our area until noon CDT.
