Nominate Now! Do you have someone in mind that you would like to see recognized at the National Convention? Now is your chance! Nominate them for an award. If you nominated in the past, and the person wasnt selected, please consider re-nominating. Just because the essay was not selected in a previous year, does not mean that the recipient is ineligible or that the essay may not prove to be the best essay this year. Each year, in each category, the essay nominations are sent out to a committee. The committee selects the best essay for that particular award. Do you think your Sensei is just plain AWESOME? - Nominate him/her for the Prof. Dick Rickerts Award! (Any student or instructor may make nominations excluding the BoP and OpsCom.) Do you know someone who is a FABULOUS competitor at a contest? Or is always willing to help others at a contest, exhibiting Kokua? - Nominate him/her for the Prof. John Cahill Award! (Any Yudansha or Contest host/judge may nominate.) Do you know someone who is GREAT with children? - Nominate him/her for the Prof. Ray Law Award! (Any registrant can nominate.) Do you know someone who deserves to be recognized for their AMAZING contributions to the AJJF? - Nominate him/her for the Prof. Bud Estes Award! (Any Yudansha can nominate.) please share the information with your students! As you know each year at the National Convention, the AJJF seeks to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the AJJF and to DZR. The Founders Awards are named after the founders of the AJJF, and honor four persons each year for significant contributions. We would like to have all nominations in by January 15, 2015. Please consider who you would like to nominate, and submit the information using the attached form, or send it electronically at: ajjf.org/AJJF/awards/index.php Some years we receive very few nominations for these awards, and we believe there are many more individuals that deserve to be recognized! Thank you for your help and consideration. Aloha, Dianna McKinzie Chair, Awards Committee
