A 45-year old Duval County man sustained non-life threatening injuries early this (Tuesday) afternoon at a construction site. Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian at a construction site in the 2500 block of St. Johns Parkway, just south of Long Leaf Pines at 1:30 p.m.The preliminary investigation of the scene revealed that the victim, identified as Sanford Maurice Robinson, 45, Jacksonville, an employee of Vallencourt Construction, was directing a loaded dump truck to the dump site. The truck was driven by Husein Hrustic, 56, Jacksonville, the owner of Hrustic Brothers.The investigation revealed that while the vehicle was backing to the dump site, the victim got too close to the vehicle and fell to the ground. The passenger side rear tires ran over both of Mr. Robinson’s legs below the knee. Mr. Robinson was transported to Baptist south medical center with non-life threatening injuries.Traffic Unit Deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office are continuing the investigation.
