A+AA- WE’LL RESIST MOVES TO IMPEACH YOBE GOVERNOR - APC Category: Inside politics Published on Friday, 25 July 2014 05:00 Written by Hamisu Kabir Matazu, Damaturu Hits: 3038 0 Comments Yobe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday described alleged plans by certain politicians in the North East region to initiate the impeachment of the governors of Yobe and Borno States as provocative. A statement signed by the state secretary of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Bakabe, said it will consider such reports as mere speculation but warned that any such move will amount to overheating the polity and creating political instability in the two states. “The claim to deliver Yobe State to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 is wild, misleading and intended to score cheap political relevance”. “Yobe State had suffered tortuous neglect and marginalisation by the PDP led government in the last 15 years in terms of insecurity and infrastructural development to warrant electing the party in 2015. “It is too soon for the people of Yobe State to forget this deliberate neglect not to think of delivering the state to PDP,” it stated. The party commended its three senators, six members of the House of Representatives and the entire 24 members of the State House of Assembly for their loyalty to the party and supporting the state government to improve the lives of the electorates. It advised those it described as “political trespassers” to stay away from the state saying it is an insult on the psyche of the state and it’s people that a total stranger who has no political connection with Yobe State will determine the course of its political leadership and direction in 2015.
