A COUPLE OF TIDBITS: SCHOOL VISITS AND LIVESTREAMING So - TopicsExpress

A COUPLE OF TIDBITS: SCHOOL VISITS AND LIVESTREAMING So needless to say, its been a couple of very eventful first days here in my new role as meteorologist for The Press of Atlantic City. (and a couple of uneventful days weatherwise as it turns out...lol:)) Not only am I excited that this new job keeps me in South Jersey forecasting the weather, it will also afford me the chance to do the following. 1) School visits: Always one of the most enjoyable parts of my job, as Im just a big kid when it comes to the weather. I love the enthusiasm and awe kids have of the weather, and love sharing my passion for meteorology with classes throughout South Jersey. I try to do as many as my schedule allows, and Im excited that I can continue my weekly visits to schools throughout South Jersey. So if youre a teacher and would like to arrange a weather talk, and maybe get your kids in the paper, feel free to send me an email at: dskeldon@pressofac and I will get back to you as soon as I can regarding availability. You can also message me on Facebook as well. Ive visited hundreds of classes over the last decade, and hope to continue that tradition with The Press. 2) A new tradition Im also enthusiastic to begin is livestreaming during storms, or in the case of today, non-storms. We gave it a test run today at noon, discussing why the forecast busted, sharing your pictures, comments, and answering your questions live on pressofatlanticcity. During future storms, both before and during, I hope to bring this interactive and I believe valuable feature to you. Ill have much more on this in the days before our next big weather event, which I can thankfully say is not in the immediate future. Thanks for your support South Jersey!
