~~~A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH ~ PLEASE HELP HER SHINE!!!~~~ A volunteer writes: Diamond is an old acquaintance who 5-6 years down the line is back with us as a stray. She is a smallish, overly thin and very hungry girl wearing a coat that has seen better days. She is tense, aloof and on the edges. Diamond does not like to be between four walls. She cherishes her freedom, is eager to go out for a walk and upset when she is returned to her den. She is smart and savvy, though. She has been around.It does not take long, treats helping, for Diamond to make friends with me, come on my lap, cuddle in my arms, and kiss me galore. Her tail is wagging and a faint smile appears on her too serious face. Diamond is definitively more at peace now that we have spend quality time together. True that she has right now survival needs but ultimately, all what Diamond really wants is to belong to a master or family and to settle in a place she can call home. It makes sense, right? You might think: it should not be that difficult in a huge place like NYC to find a safe and loving niche for Diamond? Well, it all depends on you to want to give Diamond a chance, a new leash on life... Diamond is waiting and dreaming of you at the Manhattan Care Center.
