A Femenist Theologian Vs Me Recently, I met a Theologian who is too concerned with the Status of Women in the Bible. We had discussed alot ranging from the 1st ever women our mother Eve to womens of the current. Matters being dealt between me and her... > The orders in the Old Testament society that concern women > The levels which they were placed > Nothing than being a wife? > Why mostly men? > The Biological structure of the two genders > Where does the Bible get wrong on women? > Submittion in what case > The orders used in our holy Orthodox Church with respect to what the Bible > Burdened or Benefited with Christianity? And so on..... But, what surprised me was that she has a total belief that womens are inferior than men in Religion, including Christianity. This caught my attension to post it in the today being celebrated IWD[International Womens Day]. I want to send my fully gradtitude message for all the womens out there for the celebration that taking place today. Womens day is a day to understand history and lean forward. Historically speaking womens doesnt get the advantage to step out and proclaim their stand. But, here we are today witnessing how women had get to a level to the extent where earth reached a point of rejoicing everyday. Since its beginning in the early 1910s we had seen remarkable women making their voice heard to the end of the world like a thunder. I hope every women set their self up for a better them and to make Histroy. God bless you all! Now, back to my point. She stated that womens are degraded in Christianity. Is that really the point? Let us see... Inferiority is defined in variety ways. It could be in level, it could be in status of a community and it could be through number. Which one is to be accompanied with degradation here? It must be with the level. Are women in a low level in Christianity/in the Bible? NO! How? Its a variation in the number of responsibilities among them and a status given in the community to be in social works[family care, helping one another, sustaining assurance of life around them]. So, is this inferiority? If you think it is this is a fallacy of Appeal to Ignorance. God is the Creator. He created them both. Eve was created because without women humanity would be half real. Adam was not in a good condition[according what God said in Gen 2:7] till Eve was created. God knows He would create Eve, but He works with time. He made all things perfect in their respective time. Eve is not another new creature but a rib bone from the first Man. How could women devalue themselves because what they do seems uncompatible with what they think is superior than them? So, still are they inferior? Nope! But, what is the measure for being infer or super? That would be the difference in nature[what we had been given in the first place]. God created them perfectly! But, what they choose to live brought them to what we see behind. But, let me ask again? Broadly speaking are men or women superior to one another? Lets take one thing... One women is superior not only in her gender but also from all the creatures. She is the Virgin Mary! ¤ Who on earth did conceived God? ¤ Who in history did we heard that a Virgin gave birth without any medical procedure? ¤ Who in the universe did we heard that a creature holds a Creator in her back? ¤ When will we hear that the World got a Savior from women instead of her? ¤ How does a young servant gives her milk to an eternal Lord? How can a Virgin women gave birth to her everlasting Father? ¤ How can Divine nature[unlimited] dwell in a woman nature[limited]? Verily, I said to you womens are indeed great in their everything! God created women purposly. Men are not superior, neither women are. We are all equal under Christ.[Galatians 3:28] we all had a human mother but not a human father. We had a Father divinly not humanly. The femenist theologian said... Hmmm, I know this but never had a glimpse ideal to coincide it with History and in measurity. We know many things had happend in the past to our women by unmatured men who got no consideration to our beingness. But, time is in an undisputed road to change the image taken from the past. Everybody is not living by recalling what happend but by understand the reality of the past to fulfill the future and not to repeat it. I thanked her for understanding and quoting this two verses we finished the discussion. The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands. Proverbs 31:31 The wisdom of The Lord, Bless of the Greatest Women on Earth and Heaven and the Blessing of all Saintly womens be with us all! Amen!
