A Mirror of our Culture: Sport and Society in America conference brought together scholars and practitioners to discuss women in sport. Conference attendees had the chance to hear from members of the All American Professional Girls Baseball League, sports journalist Christine Brennan, Notre Dame Womens Basketball Coach Muffet McGraw, pioneer womens distance runner Dr. Julia Chase-Brand, and current female athletes and coaches. It was exciting to have so many discussions focused on women in sport and to recognize how far womens sports in America have come. The conference also helped raise awareness that there is still work to be done in order for women in sports to reach equality in America and globally.
