MEC is a mixed kindergarten and primary boarding school offering 8-4-4 system of education. In the year 2015, MEC will be launching ECD college. We are located on the equator at the edge of the beautiful Maseno Hills, a quiet rural neighborhood, 22 kilometers North West of Kisumu City. Description of your role: The headmaster runs the school by inspiring and overseeing the academic staff, developing vision for the institution, managing the school business and overseeing the development of the institution. Specific roles include: Provide leadership, inspiration and guidance to the entire school community. Direct the daily operations of MEC by supervising staff, by coordinating activities, by creating clear lines of authority and setting tone for ethical code. Provide curricula review and development , continuous mentoring of students performance and planning and managing education system in line with the MOE policies and requirements to include measures of value addition for students and staff. Work closely with the community, students and other stakeholders to generate the value to the institution. Oversee the implementation of the long term strategic planning of the school by advising the board in these matters, and hence contributing to vision shaping of the school. Determine and implement positive strategies and programmes which ensure good pupil behavior and discipline; giving support and clear guidance on exclusion. Promote and maintain environment that enhances good teaching and effective learning and leading by example by teaching at least 16 lessons per week. Mentor and develop staff to achieve the highest possible performance standards. Oversee the creation of the yearly budget by working with the board, bursar and school administrator. Review quarterly budget versus expenses. Qualifications For The Role. Bachelor of Education and MUST be registered with TSC. 5 years working experience out of which at least 2 years as HT or HOD with track record of achievement in both academic excellence and good formation of learners. Ability to communicate efficiently on email and using of MS word and excel is an added advantage. Key Attributes. High level of integrity, commitment and professional responsibility.
