A PROFFESSOR WHO NEVER WENT TO SCHOOL. The book that ranks - TopicsExpress

A PROFFESSOR WHO NEVER WENT TO SCHOOL. The book that ranks second to the bible in having been translated into various languages and dialects, PILGRIMS PROGRESS, was written by a man who was taught how to read and write, after marriage by his wife. This man is JOHN BUNYAN. He was unlearnt son of a poor working man, a tinker, but wrote with admirable literary skill. His works brought favourable comments from geniuses such as coleridge. John was not the child of gifted parents. For generations the Bunyans were mending pots, possessing no prestige or wealth. There was little hope of johns ever being anything but a poor tinker. He was born into poverty and followed the trade of a poor man, but he appeared upon the worlds stage at a time it was crowded with famous political, literary and religious actors. He so nobly played his part that the applause of centuries has been awarded to him. John rose to fame and honour through the work he did while in a prison cell. For thirteen years he was behind the bars. Yet none who were famous in his lifetime have left such a lasting memory in the heart of English speaking nations. God bless you dear reader.
