A. What my friends want me to say on #EkitiSaga - Fayose, orie kenke. You slapped a judge! B. What I said on #EkitiSaga - 1. Let us wait till the next day as we might learn Fayose did not slap a judge (this turned out to be true) 2. Killing a supporter of Fayose is gruesome C. What really happened in #EkitiSaga - 1. Throngs of people in Ekiti (artisans, okada riders, NURTW etc) who feared a judge might truncate the mandate they gave Fayose to govern them took their I will police my mandate determination to a new level and took laws into their hands by manhandling a judge. Very reprehensible and highly condemn-able for people to recourse to self help. 2. The second judge that was allegedly manhandled had left his court, didnt direct the court police to enforce the sacred silence rule, but personally did it himself by approaching the surging crowd and chastising them (one could speculate that his action was deliberate, after-all, he knew what happened on Monday!). 3. A supporter of Fayose was subsequently murdered bringing to about 9 (nine) the number of those allegedly murdered since Fayemi took over as governor - doubling the number of such politically motivated deaths under any of Fayose or Oni. 4. The Monday judge (there are two judges) who had the power to allow Fayoses counsel enough time to respond refused and was clearly going to give judgement when the defendant had yet to mount defense (I am not a lawyer, lawyers can shed light on this) has been alleged to have been seriously compromised and that he was on a singular mission (stop Fayose). MY POSITION: The people of Ekiti are superior in the democratic hierarchy to any group of individuals no matter how well read or how well cultured. The people are what they are - people. The Elite 11 (E 11) in Ekiti had their chance before the electorates in June to present a candidate who QUALIFIED against Fayose (whom they claimed was NOT QUALIFIED). Since the people have spoken through their decision to elect Fayose (not qualified) instead of Fayemi (qualified), I think it is both immoral and reprehensible to attempt to upturn the verdict of the masses. I consider it hypocritical that the same Fayose whose eligibility is being challenged in 2014 by the E11 was given clean bill by INEC in 2011 when he worked for the same E11 without them making a fuss. Finally, if you sincerely do believe that Fayose will mess up if he rules, then the best strategy is for you to sit back and await the opportunity his messing up will present to you in 4 years time instead of instigating violence at this time because you have control of all press houses. To Fayose of Ekiti: How did the APC get that judge unto their side? By the way, those my friends who disagree with me without abusing me, may your days be long! Let us debate, disagree and agree (when possible).
