A Wise man once said words to the effect of:- Be he King or Pauper; Physician or Thief... As long as a man might earn your trust... Then trust him....for He is your Friend... and as such... He warrants value far beyond that of the judgement of others who may not know him. I have learned in life that we tend to take far too much notice of the ill-founded opinions of others so that we allow these misguided attitudes to colour our own - as yet unformed - opinions of good people long before we have the opportunity to get to know them. At which point...all good opportunity is lost for ever. Therefore I say: When you meet a new person; be open in your dealings with them so that you may make honest companionships; based solely upon those qualities that YOU have found to exist. For those who speak ill of someone you have only just met tend to do so out of mischief rather than the thought of your good.
