A baby is dead and a teenager is critically injured at a Cannon Beach hotel. Police say they are searching for their mother. Cannon Beach police were called to the Surfsand Resort at 148 W. Gower Ave. around 9:45 a.m. after a housekeeper found a dead infant and a 13-year-old child critically cut in a third-floor hotel room. The teen was taken to Doernbecher Childrens Hospital. Police are actively searching for 40 year old Jessica Smith, of Goldendale, Washington and a 2007 gold Chevy Suburban with WA license plate APX3141. Anyone who sees Smith or the SUV should call Cannon Beach police at 503-436-2811.
