A couple of people have been asking about what happened with my mom so the readers digest condensed version is ... she was hospitalized for pain back in December and they said she had Iskemic Colotis where part of your colon isnt getting enough oxygen and dies causing pain. They didnt think it needed surgery at that time and sent her home with instructions and a follow-up colonoscopy at the end of February. They said all looked fine but on March 10th she went by ambulance to Legacy Emanual for stomach pain again. After 5 days they decided to do a hemicolectomy removing the right side of her colon. Recovery was going well but slowly, apparently though they ovetloaded her with fluids and she ended up with either ARDS or pnemonia or both. She went into the ICU nine days ago and has been sedated and on a ventilator since. Shes not currently on the ventilator and just has the oxygen tube in her nose and is doing oksy as long as she doesnt get too excited or thrash around too much. Hopefully this explains better whats been going on.
