A follow up prayer request for Michelle You will remember we asked for prayers for Michelle some time ago - Jocelyn has provided an updat with a further request for more prayers if you would be so good. See email copy below. With many thanks John Porteous ====================================================================================== 4 August 2014 Jocelyn Kirkham JP, an update on Michelle. Dunedin could not accept her for treatment because of the shape and position of her tumour. She is now under the care of Wellington Hospital with treatment starting today. Her tumour had grown and is in the middle of her head just touching the brain stem. It curls around and touches the trigeminal nerve which is the reason she hasn’t been able to get any relief from the pain. Starting today she has radiation treatment every weekday for six weeks. She travels from Carterton (driven by the Cancer Society) on a Monday morning and returns on a Friday night staying at the Margaret Steward House during the week. Fellow residents of the Village have banded together to give her an evening meal Friday through Sunday while she is undergoing treatment and she is hoping to be able to get off the tablets that make her ‘spaced out’. Michelle has appreciated the prayers of the Convention and, at this time, any extra coming her way would be really appreciated especially in the hope that she will not have any of the possible side effects which include the possibility of her sight and pituitary gland being affected, also her thyroid. She is very positive that it will be successful with the best possible outcome being it will only regrow slowly over the next nine years, she is pain free during this time and doesn’t suffer any of the side effects. Thanks heaps.
