A friend wrote to me (although he begins with reference to al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun, it originally is meant for us in the Islamic Unity Convention given some differences we have) My dearest brother, the Ikhwan is being prepared for the slaughter. My fear is that they are likely to suffer the confusion and organisational bleeding that we have had for almost 25 years. In their case it will be worse due to their size and history and their spectacular failure in office. The impact on the global Islamic movement is likely a disaster. They could lose a generation of supporters or two forever. Some of these people will just give up. How do we appeal to Allah to heal their hearts and lift their spirits when we have issues at home. We might be putting ceilings on our duas for them and cahining our spirits from aiding them because of our own issues. I do not belittle them. But when someone who legitimately complains about being without shoes looks around and sees someone without feet, it does not diminish his anguish but it provides a context. That is what is missing in this matter my brother.
