A journalist’s life is always challenging, but studying it as a subject is equally demanding. Students pursuing Bachelors and masters in Journalism and communication constantly juggling between multiple assignments, shooting video documentaries on a scorching day, cramming up the history of world journalism, keeping up with current affairs and worrying about the job placements, all at the same time. Here are 7 things you can relate to if you have been a journalism and communication student. 1. You’re sick of hearing that, yaar tera toh sahi hai, Journalism toh bohot easy hai, kuch padhna nahi hota. And you’re like, ek baar tu bhi leke dekhta, toh tujhe bhi pata chl jata kitna padhna hota hai aur kitna nahi. 2. At the beginning of the course every student aspires to become a hardcore journalist or a news anchor in the first job itself. 3. Campus placements are the biggest lies of our lives. 4. You make huge files for your practicals but most of the time, the examiner doesnt even open it. 5. As soon as photography comes into the story, half of your classmates buy SLRs and have an album up on Facebook named So and So’s Photography. 6. Finding an internship becomes a task. Nobody is ready to take you and when they do, they make you slog like slaves without pay. 7. After those years of studying and slogging, you start questioning yourself, Why did I ever decide to take up journalism?
