A lot of us more skeptical fans are being called out by the die-hard optimist fans. For those of you in the latter category, following describes my thinking as a skeptical, realist type fan. Its like this: You have a dog that poops on the floor pretty regularly for 16 years. Then, in the 17 year, there are a few weeks with no poop on the floor. What are you to make of that? Is the mess coming to an end? Is there more coming next weekend? Will we make it to the end of the year with minimal poop ( end of regular season) only to find a steaming pile after weve trusted and replaced the carpet ( playoffs)? We have a strong trend off failure and the win column doesnt tell the whole story in any given season during this period. I have no confidence in them. I want them to win, but I go into every weekend expecting a 4th qtr turd on the carpet. This is realism. The best predictor of the future is past performance.
