A new Park ‘n’ Ride will be developed at Parafield Airport - TopicsExpress

A new Park ‘n’ Ride will be developed at Parafield Airport after reaching an agreement with Parafield Airport Limited. Park ‘n’ Rides are a great way of encouraging more people to use our public transport network to get to and from the city. The new Parafield Park ‘n’ Ride will be constructed this financial year, with completion in the second half of 2015, and have a capacity of at least 400 vehicles. It will also support around 25 jobs for local workers. Construction also continues on the Seaman Road, Noarlunga Park ‘n’ Ride and the Smithfield Park n Ride with works due to be finalised by the end of October. Once complete, these will increase the number of parking spaces by a total of 325 at these two locations. The new facility is part of a State Government initiative to increase the capacity of Park n Ride facilities for commuters; there are now more than 11,000 spaces, compared to 6,100 in 2002. There are 72 Park n Ride locations, and the State Government is also undertaking preliminary scoping works for additional Park ‘n’ Ride facilities at seven other sites including Golden Grove, West Lakes, Tambelin, Bellevue Heights, Crafers, Wayville and Morphettville/Glenelg sites. #DPTIProjects
