A new cluster of University of South Florida medical school buildings planned for downtown Tampa could be bigger than baseball, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn told a group of USF trustees today. He spoke during a meeting of the USF Board of Trustees Health Workgroup meeting at USFs Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS), which would be a gallstones throw from the new complex. The Workgroup trustees approved the proposal this morning, sending it on to the full Board of Trustees for consideration at their December 4th meeting. The building, located at the corner of Channelside and Meridian, would be at least 12 stories tall. It would be adjacent to a similar sized medical office building, as well as a parking facility with room for up to 1,800 vehicles.
