A parent asks our group: I need healthy alternatives to help my 6.5yr old son eat. He wont ANY kind of meat (except shrimp or bacon), eggs, beans,or most veggies. He will eat peanut butter, some cheeses, some yogurt, some nuts, very few pastas, raw bell peppers, picky about pizza, loves fruit, loves bread and of course desserts. He has a real anxiety when we ask him to try new things. We are running out of options. He gets his mind made up that he only likes a couple of things and then he gets tired of eating them over and over and then those things will eventually be on the do not like list. I am trying to educate him on how important it is to eat healthy and that seems to help his willingness to try something new. But the stress that the situation brings to our family every day has got to change. I know that there is more to his eating than him just being picky. And trust me, hes not spoiled (contrary to some family members opinions). His anxiety is real.
