A peek at what has been swirling around in my head the last few - TopicsExpress

A peek at what has been swirling around in my head the last few days.- Another round of Kallies Sunday thoughts. Why does it feel like when you try putting more good out into the world, you seem to receive even more negativity? Maybe this is where the saying opposition in all things really applies- but whatever it is, it has me thinking. I received an email from a dear friend about something in her life that was causing her frustration, and causing really conflicted emotions about whether or not she should continue to do said thing (said thing is AMAZING- by the way) She felt like this thing, that was once her passion, was now poison that was affecting every faucet of her life and not in a good, and happy way. Our conversation has left me wide awake at night thinking about the importance of keeping our eye on our why. Here is what my brain has come up with in the wee hours of the night- it may be crazy talk or it might just be an answer you were looking for. Heres the thing about this life- you have to keep your eye on your why at all times. If you loose sight of your why, you lose you. Your why is your voice, your passions, your reasons for life, and ultimately your happiness. When your why is front and center, there is no room for doubt. When you let doubt in, when you try and conform to others expectations you have to step back and reevaluate, because others dont decide your why. Who do you do (fill in the blank) for? Who are you doing the why for-yourself? The world? You HAVE to focus on the things that really matter to you and let the rest go. I have found, when I feel confused and frustrated I have been doing things for the wrong reasons. I have taken on a lot of unnecessary and gotten caught up in the hype, trying to please others, or even the how big can I be game. I am really working on simplifying my life. I am finding myself stepping back and reminding myself that simplicity is where I find my happiness. Life is not meant to be a popularity contest. It is not about pleasing the world. It is not about everyone else- it is about finding and serving MY people. My kids, my husband, my friends, the strangers who I havent met, but are destined to be in each others lives, GOD-those are my people. The people that need my voice and I need theirs. Find your people- that is what matters.I also find in these times if I reflect back on the times I was the happiest it is always tied to how clear my vision is focused on my why and from their I can grab the bits and pieces that make me happy and mesh them together. Go back to the roots and start picking out the pieces that make you happy. Start weeding out all the unnecessary so the necessary, the happy parts can speak. I find keeping things simple leads me to more happiness. Maybe that will be the case for you too. Sometimes simplifying means you have to pull in the reigns and strip it back to the bare bones, so you can keep your why front and center. Dont give up if it is because of others and the unclear vision they can create. If you find that your why has changed, then by all means let it go, but if it is because of others- DONT GIVE THEM THAT POWER. Dont let them define your why- youve got people to find. Focus on your why, FIND YOUR PEOPLE and simplify- the rest is unnecessary.
