A prayer for those who suffer from mental illness. Lord, I pray this prayer with a personal interest. I, as well as some other family members, have mental health issues. I am told that it is hereditary as much as diabetes and cardiac issues. Some are more of a nuisance than a disability. Thank you Lord that society is now realizing the necessity of involvement in this area. Many are those who suffer from the stigma associated with mental health disorders as well as the disease itself. Father, it can be a very isolated and lonely life. The simplest things can be misunderstood. Fear and confusion are their constant companions. Be with the caregivers and family members of these precious people. The challenges before them will require vast amounts of love, patience, understanding and wisdom. Guide the doctors as they prescribe the necessary medicines. Let there be little; if any, trial and error involved and please minimize the side effects which are sure to be associated. In Jesuss name I pray, Amen
