A short vent here. I detest articles like this, bulldog is #1. NOT all bulldogs are unhealthy. If people would do their research before purchasing, stay away from pet stores and backyard breeders, we wouldnt be reading things like this. And every breed has issues, not just bulldogs. Bulldogs have become very popular lately, and movie stars with pictures of cute bulldog puppies doesnt help. Good breeders breed for health & temperament, not the almighty dollar. The first question I ask people when they call to surrender their bulldog is where did you purchase from. And I had a very reputable breeder take back her 10 year old female. We as a rescue strive to educate the public - and people need to realize a dog is a lifetime commitment and to be prepared for expenses, no matter what the breed.
