A year ago today It was confirmed that I had cancer. I had my thyroid removed to discover that the cancer was hiding behind my thyroid. It was finally discovered when the cancer spread to my lymph nodes. What a shocking time it was to remove my thyroid, 10 lymph nodes, attend physical therapy for my neck and shoulder, and be in isolation due to my radiation treatment. As Im re-reading this, it sounds so surreal. It is amazing how strong you become when you are forced into a situation like that. Thank you to my family and friends who have helped me fight each battle. You are amazing!!! I have been told that my thyroid is now dead and there is no signs of it growing back. YEAH!!! From now on, I try to appreciate the little things in life. That means the most because life can change in a moment.
