A young Livingston woman whose dad was given just six months to live after being diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus, has reached another mountain in her bid to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer and Ochre - The Oesophageal Cancer Charity. Sharon Clark, from Craigshill, and 23 of her friends climbed Ben Vrackie, in Pitlochry, and raised a total of £2,000 to be split between the charities. Sharons dad had always wanted to climb Ben Vrackie. But his illness robbed him of the opportunity. So Sharon and her friends climbed it for him. My dad was there cheering us on at the bottom, said Sharon, it was a great wee day so it was. Sharon and her sister, Leanne, had previously raised money by taking part in a 10-mile sponsored walk.
