ABOUT DEBTS [ The Year for Canceling Debts ] At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts. Deuteronomy 15:1-3 This is how it is to be done: Every creditor shall cancel any loan they have made to a fellow Israelite. They shall not require payment from anyone among their own people, because the Lord’s time for canceling debts has been proclaimed. Deuteronomy 15:1-3 Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought: “The seventh year, the year for canceling debts, is near,” so that you do not show ill will toward the needy among your fellow Israelites and give them nothing. They may then appeal to the Lord against you, and you will be found guilty of sin. Deuteronomy 15:8-10 Then Moses commanded them: “At the end of every seven years, in the year for canceling debts, during the Festival of Tabernacles, Deuteronomy 31:9-11 he went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.” 2 Kings 4:6-8 When the neighboring peoples bring merchandise or grain to sell on the Sabbath, we will not buy from them on the Sabbath or on any holy day. Every seventh year we will forgo working the land and will cancel all debts. Nehemiah 10:30-32 Do not be one who shakes hands in pledge or puts up security for debts; Proverbs 22:25-27 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matthew 6:11-13 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?” Luke 7:41-43 And GOD clears all debts, AMEN
