ADA FOUNDATION PREDOCTORAL DENTAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES A. PREDOCTORAL DENTAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS 1. DENTAL STUDENT 2. UNDERREPRESENTED MINORITY DENTAL STUDENT 3. ROBERT J. SULLIVAN SCHOLARSHIPS 4. DR. ROBERT B. DEWHIRST SCHOLARSHIPS Purpose, Description, and Objectives: The ADA Foundation (ADAF) dental student scholarships help predoctoral dental students defray a part of their professional education expenses. The goal of this program is to facilitate the education of academically gifted dental students. The Underrepresented Minority Dental Student Scholarship Program targets African-American, Hispanic, and American Indian dental students, all of whom have been identified as underrepresented minorities in dentistry. Recipients of the Sullivan and Dewhirst Scholarships will be selected from the pool of applicants for the Dental Student and Underrepresented Minority Dental Student Scholarships. A Dr. Robert B. Dewhirst scholarship may be awarded to two applicants, one to an applicant from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Dentistry and one to an applicant from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California USC.
