ADAPTATIONS is a new intermedial series at the NAC that will feature artists exploring the transformation of preceding works into new modes, forms, and media. Transcoding poetry into improvised music and dance, novels into film, TV shows into digital art, appropriating, decontextualizing, plundering, and many more variations foregrounds art as dialogue, and especially the flow of ideas between the filters of artists and each medium. ADAPTATIONS is a home for art as polysystem. There are four events scheduled in the series this Fall: Adaptations 1: The Muted Note – Scott Tomson and Susanna Hood perform the poetry of P.K.
