ADELEKE OPENS CASE BEFORE PANEL, SEPTEMBER 17 The first executive governor of Osun State and a chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, will on 17th of this month appear before the Osogbo Panel of Enquiry on the Disturbances of Public Peace to open his case against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in the recently conducted August 9 election, Senator Iyiola Omisore and the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan. The panel led by Honourable Justice Moshud Adeigbe gave Adeleke the chance to come and open his case after his counsel – Mr. Lekan Olayiwola had informed the panel that the respondents have been served notice of summon and hearing through a courier service, noting that the respondents are aware of the sitting of the commission. Adeleke had petitioned Omisore, Adesiyan and one Sogo Agboola whom he alleged of assaulting him during a stakeholder meeting at Ideal Next Hotel in March this year. Though, Senator Omisore, who is one the three defendants had secured a court order to stop the panel from investigating him. Justice Adeigbe in his ruling ordered that Adeleke should come and adopt his petition on 17th of this month. Also, the case between Musibau Adekunle Yahaya against the Commissioner of Police and three others came up before the panel. Yahaya, who is NYSC Corp member, petitioned the Commissioner of Police and others that his fundamental right was infringed upon in Oyerere Village, Ife North Local Government, during the recently conducted August 9 governorship election in Osun. The Chairman, however urged the respondents to file their reaction before the next adjourned date, and sympathized with the petitioner that the panel will look at all the evidence before it and make necessary recommendation to the government. Equally, the secretary of the commission has equally called on members of the public who may have suffered one thing or the other from individuals or group, to come forward, as the commission is still open to accepting petitions.
