ADVICE TO THE PF [This is despite our judiciary officially declaring that it is suitable to refer to the PF/President Sata as Chumbu mushololwa. We shall not relent as we advise. This our national duty, our cross to bear, until the captives are set free]: Unless we find a way of getting them [Our national leaders], to focus on resolving conflicts and turn to key issues of economics and social development, the efforts that we are allmaking will be for nought...Empirical observation shows that autocratic and authoritarian regimes have failed on a greater and ever greater scale to solve problems of societies. Where thought is contained and freedom of opinion stifled, development will be restricted. Freedom is the essence of growth and development...[But then], until we solve such problems as war and political conflict [Selective use of the Public Order Act], poverty, corruption, high mortality rates, a largely uneducated population, democracy is not possible. But if we do not use democratic methods in our search for and application of solutions, these solutions will only be short-term bandages, sure to unravel in time. The sustainability of a policy or programme derives from everyone [the majority] having an interest in its success. This is obtainable only through democratic involvement in which recipients or target populations are turned into true stakeholders. Therefore, development can only take place in an atmosphere which allows the talents of all the people [citizens] to be given full expression. In order to create conditions conducive to national development, the continent [Read Zambia/Africa] requires enlightened, democratic, inclusive and competent leadership, Professor Muyunda Mwanalushi, July 2008. The parentheses are mine, the thoughts and their presentation his, the wisdom universal. Ali ni makutu amve! Have your say my dear and beloved friends [Mukwai ne fipumbu finandi filya twaishiba nafyena kuti fyacita comment. Freedom kaili!].
