AFRICAN STORY POEM They took us to the door of no return, Took away names and stole our words, Never thought there was a day, I n I will be free again, All the civilization and people lost, In ah dis ya African all ah cost, But still we survived, And still we have our pride, So dis ya generation, Chant Chant fi liberation, This is our story, Our African story, Yes we remember the pain, But still we remember the Glory, They tried to hide our story, Cloud it with mystery, In I come fi tell our story, Mek me take yuh dung ah swaziland, Weh dem ah practice mathematics, Long long before babylon, A some ah seh dat dem ah christian, When the foundation of the faith, Is found in Ethiopia, Mansa Musa the king of Mali, Was the richest man inna di world, Through the trading of Gold, So much History, Hidden from the Yuts of today, And still the half has never been told, This is our story, Our African story, We are free from the chains, But still we remember the Glory, They tried to hide our story, Cloud it with mystery, In I come fi tell our story,
