ALERT: Its Happening... Congressman Makes Huge Announcement About John Boehner! This is huge! John Boehner, the venal, leathery fraud from Ohio, has long been a perfect example of everything conservatives hate about the Republican Party. Beholden to lobbyists and power instead of constituents and principles, the Speaker of the House has long defined what it means to be a RINO. Inexplicably, he’s continued to enjoy the support of the Republican contingent in the House of Representatives. If a certain congressman has his way, though, that may be coming to an end. Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) said in a recent radio interview that he was meeting with other conservative representatives in order to oust the speaker. “Right now, I’ve been meeting with a small group, and we — about 16, 18 — and we’re hoping to have a name of a sitting member of Congress that we can call out their name,” Rep. Jones told a local radio station. (H/T Daily Caller.) It would be a long shot, of course, to win on an outright vote against Boehner when the vote takes place on Jan. 6. However, if 30 House Republicans were to vote against him, Boehner couldn’t pass the required threshold to be elected speaker. The vote would then continue until a candidate obtained the requisite number of yeas. If Boehner were to realize he didn’t have the support necessary to be elected, it would be likely he would drop out of the running. Rep. Jones has been noted in the past for his opposition to Boehner; his vote for United States Comptroller General David Walker for speaker in 2012 so stunned the House that he was asked to repeat it just to be sure. “I’ve already said I cannot vote in good conscience for John Boehner,” Jones told the radio station, adding that he had met with “one individual” who was interested in being an alternative to the current speaker. The Republican establishment, meanwhile, has every confidence that Boehner will continue in his role as speaker. The House Republican Conference, in a closed-door meeting, selected Boehner as their choice without even considering other alternatives. “Rep. Boehner was selected as the House Republican Conference’s choice for Speaker last month, and he expects to be elected by the whole House next week,” wrote Michael Steel, a Boehner aide, in an e-mail. Steel also added, in a rather extraneous and sanguine fashion, that there would be no retribution against representatives who chose to vote against the speaker. The very fact Steel felt the need to voice that sentiment indicates it’s about as genuine as a Russian election. I can understand if this were someone doing a bang-up job, but the only direction John Boehner could plausibly lead America is to the tanning salon. One can only hope 30 Republicans realize this and will move the House – and America – in a different direction. conservativetribune/congressman-huge-announceme…/
